Law Prophets Repentance Few are Saved |
1. True Love True love is not some fluffy notion. There is a saying “tough love”. Most people don’t know what that really means.
An example would be if you have a cancerous tumour and the doctor cuts it out. The doctor does not want to hurt you but he knows that the operation is necessary and for your own good so that you don’t get the worse problem of dying from the cancerous tumour. In the short term it hurts, but in the long term it is beneficial. In the same way, the law of God is like the doctor’s scalpel, it exposes the cancerous tumour of sin. So, being exposed to the law of God can be a painful experience but it is necessary and for our own good.
2. Law and Prophets The disciples used the law and the prophets to explain the gospel to people. The law explains what sin is and the prophets give proof of the Bible’s inerrancy2.1-4.
